JANET JACKSON WHAT HAVE YOU DONE FOR ME LATELY

"What Have You Done for Me Lately" is a song by American singer Janet Jackson from her third studio album, Control (1986). Jackson co-wrote the song with its producers Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis. It was released January 13, 1986, by A&M Records as the album's lead single. After two unsuccessful albums and a management change, the singer began developing a new album. "What Have You Done for Me Lately" was penned for one of Jam and Lewis's own records, but the lyrics were rewritten to convey Jackson's feelings about her recent separation from James DeBarge in January 1985. It revolves around a woman's frustration with her partner in a relationship.

FLO
LEAK IT

The Grammy-nominated trio FLO has officially entered a new creative era with the release of their latest single and  music video, “Leak It,” out now via Island Records. The track arrives on the heels of the group’s first-ever Grammy nomination and a widely acclaimed performance on NPR’s Tiny Desk.  Described as a “scandalous pop anthem,” the single explores themes of desire and reclaimed power, anchored by the trio’s signature vocal harmonies. The accompanying music video, directed by Olivia De Camps, features the members enrolling in an unconventional wellness retreat designed to train artists in the “unspoken rules of modern fame”. “‘Leak It’ unlocks a core memory of being a young girl, listening to girl group music and feeling empowered!” the group shared in a joint statement. “The video is iconic… This is the video we dreamt of having as teenagers. We’re bold, we’re FLO”.

THE PULSE: INSIDE THE SHOW

Born from the vibrant streets and the ever-evolving sound of the city, Urban Chart Hits is your definitive guide to what is happening in Urban Music. We don't just play the top 20; we dive into the stories behind the artists, the industry shifts, and the beats that move the culture.

Launched in 2006 and possibly the longest running Australian networked radio show, Urban Chart Hits celebrated its 1000th edition in early 2025 and is still going strong.

Urban Chart Hits was initially presented by "Wolfie" and was heard on some independent commercial stations in Queensland and NSW before getting picked up what is now SCA. It was aired on all 65 Sea, Star and Hot FM hit music stations nationally on a Sunday night from 10pm. Later the Grant Broadcasters picked it up and then in 2019, the brand, show and website were purchased by Costello Investment Holdings and continued in its current format until now.

Urban Chart Hits is currently presented by Brett Costello, and heard on great stations such as the Flow FM network (23 stations across SA, Vic, NSW, NT), Oz Urban Radio 87.8fm Perth, Darwin FM, Rhythm FM Cairns 88.0FM, Tune1.com.au, 89.7fm in Perth's Nothern Suburbs, 94.1fm Cherbourg Radio (QLD), TEABBA; broadcasting into 29 remote communities across the Top End (NT), as well as a number of narrowcast, indigenous and community stations across Australia, New Zealand and Singapore (and even Germany!).
